Personal insults helping legalization?

August 17th, 2012 | By Pirate

In recent months a lot of personal insults have been launched at the people opposed to I-502. I weighed in at Radical Russ’s blog where he was chastising Steve Elliot (“Tool of the Town” as Russ has coined him) for calling out Marc Emery and Jodie Emery for betraying the cannabis community.

Russ said:

“Yes, I am dismissing Ed Rosenthal and anyone else who is scaremongering about I-502. But I am not the one dissing or demonizing. I disagree with everyone who is involved with Hempfest who is against I-502. But I don’t call them “clueless Canadian prisoners in Mississippi”, “celebrity trophy wife”, or insinuate that their contrary opinion is due to some extortion or conspiracy. In fact, I still consider Viv, Douglas, and many others my friends and allies. Sometimes friends and allies still disagree.”

This was my reply to Russ, it is still “pending” at his blog. So I am also posting it on here incase it doesn’t get approved.

“Russ you may not be calling names now (and BTW- I am not fond of Steve Elliot). But don’t you remember the repeated attacks and name calling that you launched at Roger Christie? What about the Prop19 fights? You had a lot of derogatory things to say about cannabis activists then and now. You didn’t stoop completely down to Steve Elliots level, but what you have done on many occassions has hurt and divided the movement. As has what Marc Emery said a few months ago about Washington activists who oppose I502. What has name calling and personal insults accomplished?”

Ganja Jon (Jon Hamm) who is a co-host of Russ Belville starting threatening me in a recent conversation as well.

So don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house is my advice.

Time 4 Hemp with Casper Leitch

Time 4 Hemp
Host: Casper Leitch
Guest Schedule: T4H GUEST CALENDAR
Program Archives
Call-in Number: (402) 237 – 2525
Time: Weekdays, 12:00 pm Central

Casper Leitch got involved in the hemp movement in 1990 and launched the cable television series ‘Time 4 Hemp’ on January 5, 1991. It was the first television series in the history of broadcasting to focus strictly on the topic of cannabis, thus giving Casper the dubious honor of being known as ‘The Father Of Marijuana Television’. He was a participant in the United States Government Funded ‘UCLA Smoked Marijuana Study’ headed by Dr. Donald Tashkin and is the first person in the world have television filmed footage of themselves smoking legal marijuana in a Government funded lab.

Over the years, ‘Time 4 Hemp’ has remained on the cutting edge of the Marijuana Movement by opening the website in 1999 and being one of the first sites to offer free audio and video downloads. On July 4, 2007, the first segment of the ‘Time 4 Hemp – TODAY PotCast’ was released and six months later, the ‘Time 4 Hemp – MUSIC PotCast’ made its debut. Both now rank in the number one and number two spots when the word ‘hemp’ is typed into the iTunes search engine.

Past guests on the series include Dr. Tim Leary; Willie Nelson; Congressman Barney Frank; Keith Stroup (founder of NORML); David Boaz (Co-founder of the CATO Institute); Kevin Zeese (Co-founder of the Drug Policy Foundation); Ethan Nadelmann (Founder of the Drug Policy Alliance); Judge James Gray; Marc Emery (founder of Cannabis Culture Magazine); Ed Rosenthal (Co-founder of High Times Magazine); Steve Hager (editor of High Times Magazine); and Eddy Lepp (Hero of the Marijuana Movement).

Emerald Sun rises again

June 23rd, 2010 | By Pirate

We have had a few set backs.  Including a move to a new home, plus going to jail in Utah for protesting.
But we are back in the battle, and we are as strong as ever.
We are looking for an attorney in Utah to help fight these charges.  We are looking for a 420 friendly lawyer that we can trust.
I called the list of NORML lawyers, but I didn’t get anywhere with them.  They all live too far away.

Please contact me if you have any leads on a good attorney

Also we have dozens of new products in at
We have beer steins with ganja themes, we have had dyed tie dye shirts, and many new hemp designs, including dog leashes, necklaces, bracelets, and more.

We put our add at, we love what Marc and his crew is doing.  Marc is a very brave and conscious person.  Props to Marc!

Here is our ad:

Emerald Sun Clothing and Hemp

When we first started, we were deeply inspired by Marc, Jodie and their staff at Cannabis Culture HQ.

This is a video that I made when we kicked off

This was made August 31st 2008

Please support Marc Emery, and if you are in Washington please support I-1068.
Lets free our world of fascist laws!

Protesting for Marc Emery

May 23rd, 2010 | By Pirate

Yesterday was such a blessing.  Even though the weather was yucky, it felt good to be free and to be able to excercise my freedom by holding a sign to end prohibition that said “GROW FREEDOM’ with a cannabis leaf on it and on the other side FREE MARC EMERY.  My wife makes killer protesting signs!

It was an awesome day to bond with Spokane.  Lots of warm support, very few haters.  Also a few patients stopped by, and helped another patient medicate.  I felt very blessed all day yesterday!

Making a sign and holding it in an intersection is easy.  Getting those I-1068 signatures is the harder part.
Thanks to all you signature gatherers!

FREE MARC EMERY!!  This man has given so much!

The drug warriors keep up the pressure

May 21st, 2010 | By Pirate

Think that the marijuana battle has been won, based on a few victories in 14 states?   Even in those 14 states drug warriors continue to carry out their all out offensive on American citizens, even legal medical patients who are protected by the 10th Amendment.

Well, now the fight continues.  But not within out borders exclusively.  Our drug warriors are pursuing a freedom fighter in Canada who sold something as harmless as SEEDS!  These are seeds given to us by the creator, and should be respected by our government as such a blessing and a religious right to be able to enjoy cannabis. But not only does our government not respect our civil rights, but they bend the law to fit their particular interpretation, despite the contradictions their interpretations have with the constitution.

This is a video of Marc Emery’s final moments of freedom and the video of his young wife who is to be left all alone for who knows how many years!?

All of this over a natural, safe, and god given plant that has never killed anyone.

And now this, to vent!

Ya know, we sell alcohol, tobacco, and prescriptions in this country, and all of those substances have proven to:

1.  All be deadly

2.  To not have nearly as many benefits to marijuana

Marijuana has never killed anyone!

  • Tobacco kills about 390,000.
  • Alcohol kills about 80,000.
  • Sidestream smoke from tobacco kills about 50,000.
  • Cocaine kills about 2,200.
  • Heroin kills about 2,000.
  • Aspirin kills about 2,000.
  • Marijuana kills 0. There has never been a recorded death due to marijuana at any time in US history.
  • All illegal drugs combined kill about 4,500 people per year, or about one percent of the number killed by alcohol and tobacco. Tobacco kills more people each year than all of the people killed by all of the illegal drugs in the last century.

Marc Emery extradited, injustice 101

May 11th, 2010 | By Pirate

Marc didn’t commit crimes in the USA.  He was in Canada when he sold seeds.  The DEA has been seeking Marc as a political target.  All of this is noncompliant with local and international laws.

Here are some links:

Core reasons why I am active about my beliefs

January 19th, 2010 | By Pirate

I can think of hundreds of reasons for why I do what I do.  I could list them all and feel ever so vindicated.   But that is really what it boils down to, is that I was arrested and locked up when I was just a teenager for simple possession.
I went through the courts, and spent time in very uncomfortable jail cells.  I didn’t have a long record with exception to marijuana.
I worked from the time I was 14 years old until I was 15 and bought my first car with cash before I was even old enough to drive.
I paid taxes, I volunteered for the March of Dimes 3 years in a row from 12-15 years old.  I walked (skateboarded) 20 miles and collected dozens of sponsors to help with birth defects.
I always tried to be a good person.  I think I fell short a few times, but I don’t think that my behavior warranted incarceration and career hurdles such as being banned from service in the military.

Now we see places like Denver, Seattle, Hailey ID, and even Big Water Utah decriminalizing possession of marijuana, and now with New Jersey there is 14 medical marijuana states.  We have found that marijuana does not cause serious illness or death.  It is being proven that cannabis cures aggressive cancers.   I think that the changing of the times is a breath of fresh air for millions of people in the USA that have served time for a victimless crime in the name of another failed “war”.  Marijuana is a plant, its not a crime!

I am so thankful for all of those who fight for what you believe in.  I am so thankful for our founding fathers, and for the words in the 10th Amendment that still seem to mean something.  I am even grateful for President Obama.  That he appears to have kept his word about marijuana.  And despite that I disagree with him on other important topics, I am glad that he is attempting to keep his word about decriminalizing marijuana.

I have fun toying with ideas of cannabis related businesses, and I love to go to rallies and all that.  I think that even if cannabis gets legalized in Washington where I currently live.  I will still travel to Utah, Idaho and Arizona to organize rallies and get things moving there.  After those states legalize, Im going to retire for awhile.  But for now, Im happy enough to be a part of things, even if only a small part.

People often offer gratitude to people who fight for their rights.  I get compliments from time to time.  But I say, save the words and just stand up for your own rights.  It’s my pleasure to stand up for my rights and things that are important to me.  But our government needs our input if any of us are going to be free.  It is important to not lose sight of what needs to take place.
Cheering for Marc Emery, or Eddy Lepp, or Charles Lynch is great, and it’s just about as helpful as cheering for a football game.

Instead of cheering.  How about we rise to the occasion and actually do something about the condition of our freedoms!

Recently Adam, a contributor to xCannabis and a cool guy to toke with started his own blog.  He has a lot of commentary and constructive input to offer the uninformed citizen.  We have linked his site a few times now, and he is on our blog roll.
There are several other people who have started great blogs and radio stations, and chat rooms that help bring awareness to the cause , big ups to them too!

All of that is good!   But I think what would be a really effective way to get the message out is to follow NORML and check out when their demonstrations are, and find information on how to contact your local officials  (see the right of xCannabis for links) then attend the demonstrations often, and write your politicians often.

BTW- I think I may offend people sometimes when I get passionate about thing that I believe in.  Truly, that’s not my intention.  Thanks for reading!   Time to enjoy harvest.  😀

Updates from Reverend Ryan December 08 2009

December 8th, 2009 | By Pirate

There are several random updates in this vlog update, I’ve been really busy with and I haven’t had a lot of time to get these updates in.  So here they are.

First of all Adam sent an email about two bills in WA that are about to die in committee.

The following is a list of addresses for supporters of Marijuana Decrim in
WA State. I have e-mails form these folks stating their support OR they
have vote for one of our decrim bills ( HB1177 / SB5615) OR they have
sponsored one of those bills
Take the time to e-mail them and say thanks for their support.
While you have their attention, Ask them to Sponsor one of the bills, start conversations in the hall.
Tell them they don’t need to be afraid of Marijuana Law reform, We the people support them in Pushing the topic.,,,,,,,,,, O’,,,,,

Also respect to Marc Emery!  Lets keep this man free!

As always pray for those cannabis soldiers who have lost their freedom, their jobs, their families, and their dignity over this stupid war on the American people.
